BESTFRIEND: Wenz Andrew P. Garcia

1. What is the title of your original script?
"Bestfriend"
2. State briefly what your script is all about.
My script is about two best friends a boy(Luis) and a girl(Sally) since childhood, Luis tend to have a weak personality wherein Sally who has a strong personality keeps on protecting him whenever he is in trouble and in need of help. After graduating college Luis wants to re-pay Sally on everything she did for him. At the end there were a antagonist Rafael, who wants to forcedly marry Sally. Instead of Luis protecting Sally, Sally died because she guarded Luis from Rafael's gun-shot. Luis just returned Sally's kindness to her secreted daughter.
3. What message are you trying to convey in your story?
The message of the story is, life is too short so have a chance to re-pay someones kindness, show your love for them because it might be too late and you may regret.
4. Is there any character(s) in your story that represents you? If yes, please identify which and state the similarities between the two of you.
Yes, Luis, sometimes I am too weak and scared of everything.
Sally, I sometimes help others but forget about myself.
5. Who and what inspired you to write your script?
My true friends and my family.
6. How was it like to write a script?
Writing a script was not a joke. I must have taken it seriously because I am late behind deadline. Also, it is just like I want my script/movie worth-reading and worth-watching that cause me pressure while writing this script.
7. Will you pursue scriptwriting?
It can be if it is my call of duty.
8. Do you have any plans of entering the film business in the future? As what?
I want to be one of the animators which makes a film more exciting and fantastic.
9. If you will get to choose the actors/ actresses who will be casted for your script, who will they be? BJ Forbes for the young Luis, Celine Lim for young Sally, Richard Guttierez for Luis and Kim Chiu for Sally.
10. Who do you want to direct your script?
I want Cathy Garcia-Molina to direct my script.
11. What makes your script worth producing or watching?
It's the twist of the story and I want to have comedic scenes.
12. Can you comment about the state of the Philippine movie industry at present.
Philippine movie industry is surviving from the Hollywood's influential films, Filipino's are still appreciating our own kinds of film.

I think we should also appreciate those film that were made by real writers who called their works "Art".

13. Any word of advice to budding or aspiring writers like you?
"Feel what you feel. Express everything you want to express. and write right - it will result a great masterpiece."
